ALL POSITIONS FOR 2017 HAVE BEEN FILLED. These positions are not available this year.
Working students attend the Mustang Training Workshop for free and then stay on to train horses and help the program for eight weeks. The 2017 season will require six working students over the course of the summer, a new one starting each month. Working students have the opportunity to become very good trainers.
Beside a longer stay, compared to paying students, the working students are asked to take more responsibility for routine tasks such as grinding hay and watering. They are likely to be asked to help other students or do special projects such as help trim hooves.
Working students receive a $500 stipend at the completion of their stay to help with their travel expenses.
To apply for a working student position, fill in the MTW class application, check the box indicating you are interested in this option, and send a letter of intent and a resume to hrdept @mustangcamp.org.
